I participated in the January retreat. Immediately before the start of the retreat, some displeasure and uncertainty arose in the group because Anina Gepp had cancelled her participation in the retreat at short notice - she was supposed to lead some (yoga) classes. Almost all participants had signed up exactly because of Anina. But Oliver found top replacements - the yoga lessons of the external yoga teachers were all in their own way a pleasure, of high quality and very inspiring.
And I was soon glad that Anina was not part of the retreat, I think she would have rather disturbed the beautiful harmony in the group (drawing the energy) that formed during the week - super great girls, each in her own way.
The week was densely packed, which I thought was super good. My personal highlights were (in this order) the Sharing Circle, the Sound Journey, Conscious Whale Watching, the little hike on Teide, and of course the Coco June concert. There were magical moments that will remain in my memory.
My accommodation was simple, but had authentic charm (I was in Casa Rural) and sharing the room with a stranger at first (who turned out to be very sympathetic afterwards) was a challenge for me, especially because the bathroom was open (no closed walls). However, it must be said clearly that the quality of the individual accommodations varied greatly - some participants lived much nicer/more comfortable than others. This led to displeasure at the beginning of the week - which I can also understand.
The food in the Casa rural was fantastic - everything freshly prepared - healthy- vegetarian/vegan - TOP! Now and then the quantity was scarce, but this was immediately corrected after my "intervention". The cook Anna was in the kitchen for us from early in the morning until late at night - THANK YOU for that!
Oliver organized the retreat well - the really important things all worked out very well. From previous reviews on this platform, I did know that transportation/shifting to the individual activities could be a problem. Promptly I was then also asked directly on the 1st day by Oli whether I could provide chauffeur services with my rental car. After a first small "consternation" was then but really ok for me, Oli has then also thanked me at the end of the week with a sweet cocoa surprise. So everything is fine. Nevertheless, I would advise Oli to solve this driving story "cleanly" in a next retreat. Bite the bullet and rent a bus according to the group size or similar.
With open criticism we Swiss do hard... but I overcome myself: Oliver as a yoga instructor is quite frank and honestly rather average. That was ok, but was not a highlight and then becomes rather boring at some point towards the end of the week. And the cocoa ceremony was not coherent for me - the whole thing was so put on... well-intentioned criticism. But Oliver has only been on the road for a short time...
About the role of Oliver: for me it is impossible that one and the same person manages the week organizationally and at the same time takes the role of a spiritual teacher with a corresponding aura. These are two completely different roles and altitudes, which I would not combine in the same retreat in one person. I currently see Oliver's potential more in management than in guiding the yoga practice. What Oliver masters well is the healthy measure of closeness and distance to/with the participants.
Our week was unique - unique in the interaction of all forces: the harmonious constellation of our group, the good weather, the beautiful program points, the positive momentum that showed up so often - OUR retreat week cannot be repeated IDENTICALLY. I myself had a very wonderful week in Oli's retreat with enriching encounters and experiences.
The next retreat will be different, because a different location, probably different teachers, etc.. Therefore it would not be serious to give a recommendation for the NEXT retreat here. But MY experience was great.
